How many clicks does it take to get to your Email Quarantine?
Console “click-fatigue” is real. 😫 Between managing Chromebooks, troubleshooting login issues, and keeping up with Google’s constant interface updates, our time is too valuable to spend it clicking through endless menus.
In this post, I want to share a few Google admin shortcuts to help you get where you need to go in the admin console—faster.

📌 Pin Your Favorites
The left-hand navigation menu in the Admin console can be overwhelming. Did you know you can customize it?
When you hover over a section in the sidebar, a small pin icon appears. Click it, and that section will be pinned to the top of your menu under “Pinned.” This is perfect for areas like Devices > Chrome > Settings or Apps > Google Workspace > Drive and Docs.

🔖 Bookmark your regular visits
Most areas of the Google Admin console have static URLs. This means you don’t actually have to navigate through the dashboard at all. You can bookmark specific settings pages directly in Chrome.
I have a “gAdmin” folder on my bookmarks bar for:
- Email Quarantine: Bypass the three-level menu path.
- Alert Center: Check your critical domain alerts with one click.
- Investigation Tool: bookmark a blank investigation page to jump straight into troubleshooting.
🔍 Find it with CTRL + F
Google’s global search at the top of the console is great for finding a user or a device, but it’s notoriously hit-or-miss for finding a specific setting (like “turn off the webcam”).
When you are inside a long settings page (like the Chrome user settings), use Ctrl + F (or Cmd + F on Mac) to search the text of the page. It is often faster than scrolling through the hundreds of checkboxes and dropdowns in the User & Browser settings.
These Google admin shortcuts will help you navigate more efficiently because every click you save is a second returned to your day. ⌛
